Loparex's Product Brands for Siliconized Release Liners

May 29, 2007

Loparex Group is harmonizing its release liner product names. The aim is to build stronger and better-known product brands globally.

"For historical reasons mainly, Loparex's production units in different locations have had their own product names and brands. Today, Loparex is a truly global company with production on three continents - Europe, North America and Asia. Also most of our main customers are global companies. There has been a clear need to harmonize our product brands globally", explains Mr. Pentti Kallio, CEO.

Loparex release liners are categorized under four different product groups. Each of these groups has traditionally included a number of different product brands, depending on the manufacturing plant. In the new nomenclature there will be only one brand name for each of the four product groups.

All papers with direct silicone coating papers are combined under the LOPASIL brand, and polycoated papers under POLY SLIK brand. Direct coated films will be called PRIMELINER and polycoated films FILM PLUS (see table below).

  • Direct Coated Papers: LOPASIL
  • Polycoated Papers: POLY SLIK
  • Direct Coated Films: PRIMELINER
  • Polycoated Films: FILM PLUS

"This name change will simplify the marketing of Loparex's products and enables us to establish stronger product brands globally", confirms Mrs. Gaby Brams, Sales & Marketing Director for Loparex Europe. "It will also better indicate to our global customers that they will also get the same, consistent Loparex product quality for same kind of products - no matter whether it is manufactured in the North America, Europe or in Asia-Pacific."

"We have not invented completely new product names, but kept for each product group one, already existing strong and well-known Loparex product name. It is also of major importance to notice that only the product names are changing. There are no changes in the products themselves. In addition, this change concerns only our release liners, and not the Speciality Papers product group", Gaby Brams underlines.
