Loparex Announces July Surcharge Amount

Willowbrook, IL, USA (August 22, 2008) - Effective August 25, 2008, Loparex will be updating the monthly index-based surcharge to reflect the most recent Producer Price Index for Intermediate Materials, Supplies and Components (ID Series: WPUSOP2000, www.bls.gov/ppi) data which was released on Tuesday August 19^th.  As previously communicated, the purpose of this surcharge is to stay in line with the movement of input costs, which correlate well in direction and magnitude with the selected index.

It was anticipated that Loparex would be adjusting the surcharge up or down, by a factor 0.786 of the change in index value from the March 2008 baseline (184.1 at the time the surcharge was instituted) to the month of shipment.  We are announcing that our raw material and energy costs have been lower in the month of July than anticipated.  This has allowed Loparex to reduce the weighted index factor from 0.786 to 0.653, which in turn will lower the surcharge amount.  As a result, the surcharge on all Loparex release liner products shipped during the August 25^th -September 24^th timeframe will be 6.53%.
