Loparex is a leading manufacturer of siliconized release liners. Our extensive product line has been designed to meet the varying needs in the medical, hygiene, graphic arts, label and tapes industries and in other specialist industries and applications. Loparex services its global customers on a local basis. Loparex Europe is located in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. This plant, with a turnover of € 30 million and 135 employees, is focused on high-end release liners mainly for medical, graphic arts and tape applications. The Apeldoorn facility features extrusion coating, siliconising and finishing capabilities. We offer solvent, solventfree and waterbased coatings coated on a variety of different substrates. Our pilot coating facility allows us to respond quickly to new development needs, as we recognize time-to-market is critical to our customers' continued success.

Basic function

In the role of Product Development Engineer you will be responsible for developing new products and improving existing products. You are able to discover new applications, to define economic product concepts and to follow market trends. You will search for alternative and new raw materials and ensure their implementation.

Furthermore you will have an active role in increasing our market share together with our account managers. Providing information and technical advice to customers regarding product applications is an important part of the function. You will perform problem analysis on customer and raw material complaints and you will be involved in several projects internally. Finally you will give information and technical advice to colleagues to help them better inform / advise customers.

Job requirements

To be successful in this job you should have a relevant master or bachelors degree in chemical engineering or chemistry and at least 2 years experience in an (international) industrial environment (b-to-b). Your planning & organisational skills must be excellent and you should have a high level of dynamism and drive. Furthermore you must have very good knowledge of English plus preferably good German and/or French. You do have an independent, entrepreneurial and proactive attitude and excellent communication & presentational skills. Finally you must be aware of the fact that we do business to make money and that international travel will occupy considerable periods of your working life.

This is a fulltime position. Loparex offers an attractive package of primary and secondary benefits. The salary level has, dependent on the background of the candidate, a maximum of  € 60.000.
